Professor Celia Wells has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in recognition of her scholarly achievements in social science and law.  The  Academy of Social Sciences' announcement said 'Professor Celia Wells OBE, Professor of Criminal Law, University of Bristol. Professor Wells is one of the UK’s foremost academic lawyers, with a particular interest in public policy.'

In addition Emeritus Professor Martin Partington formerly of the University of Bristol has also been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences
