The Law School's Mooting Competition Sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills begins with Exhibition Moot Event

The Law School's internal mooting competition sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) got off to a flying start on Wednesday 15 October, with a drinks reception followed by an "Exhibition Moot" in the University's Victoria Rooms. Before an expectant audience of over 100 law students, second year mooters Anthony Asindi and Hannah Quinney demonstrated exemplary skill in presenting legal arguments in an appellate setting and responding under pressure to judicial questioning. The presiding judge, Mr Rupert Lewis, Dispute Resolution Partner at HSF, and former Bristol student, was impressed by the quality of the mooting on display and the general enthusiasm of the students. The Law Club Mooting Team - led by Julian Goering and Tom Murrell, and supported by Lauren Webb, Andrew Sanger, and Michael Bingham – are to be congratulated on organising such a professional and well attended event.

Academic Mooting Co-ordinator, Professor Harry McVea, would like to thank HSF for their continued sponsorship of the programme and wishes all the contestants the best of luck in the forthcoming competition.
