Maureen Owor appointed consultant to Joint EU/CoE project on Cybercrime

Dr. Maureen Owor of University of Bristol Law School has been appointed as a consultant on the European Union/ Council of Europe Joint Project on Global Action on Cybercrime (GLACY)

Dr. Maureen Owor, a teacher of Constitutional Rights and Crime, Justice, Society at the University of Bristol Law School and a Fellow at the African Centre on Cyberlaw and Cybercrime Prevention (ACCP) in Kampala, is working in partnership with ACCP and the Council of Europe Data Protection and Cybercrime Division, investigating the ways in which the European (Budapest) Convention on Cybercrime (2001) is implemented in Africa. Maureen has now been appointed as a consultant on the European Union/ Council of Europe Joint Project on Global Action on Cybercrime (GLACY). The project aims to support criminal justice agencies to strengthen international cooperation in the areas of cybercrime and electronic evidence within the context of the Budapest Convention. Through a combination of research and knowledge exchange, the project offers further opportunities to. research the implementation of the Convention.
