Dr Diego Acosta Arcarazo, lecturer in the Law School, has written an article for the Spanish daily newspaper El Pais entitled 'El derecho a probar suerte' (roughly 'The right to try their luck') which discusses the recent emigration of Spaniards abroad.  It distinguishes between those going to other EU countries, who are EU citizens, and those going to countries in other regions in the world. It concludes that this new emigration should make us reflect about the restrictive paradigms unfortunately common to migration discourse in Europe.  El País(literally The Country) is the highest-circulation daily newspaper in Spain and one of three Madrid dailies considered to be national newspapers of record for Spain (along with El Mundo and ABC).
