The award of Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences has been conferred on Steven Greer, Professor of Human Rights in the University of Bristol Law School, following nomination by the Society of Legal Scholars. The Academy, whose mission is to promote social sciences in the United Kingdom for the public benefit, is composed of over 700 individual Academicians and 40 learned societies. Academicians are scholars and practitioners, from academia and the public and private sectors, whose contribution to the social sciences the Academy considers ‘distinguished and significant, including impact’.
