11 July 2011

Professor Panos Koutrakos has edited a collection of essays entitled The European Union's External Relations A Year After Lisbon, based on papers given at a workshop organised by the University of Bristol in February 2011 under the aegis of the Jean Monnet Chair and with funding by the European Commission.

...the conduct of the Union’s external relations in general, and the application of the Lisbon amendments in particular, is a process in a state of constant flux. This collection provides a first attempt to reflect on the state of this process.

Professor Panos Koutrakos has edited a collection of essays entitled The European Union's External Relations A Year After Lisbon. Based on papers given at a workshop organised by the University of Bristol in February 2011 under the aegis of the Jean Monnet Chair and with funding by the European Commission, this collection offers a first overview and assessment of the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty in the area of EU external relations. It gauges the implications of the Lisbon reforms in both legal and policy terms for the Union institutions, the Member States and third countries. The papers are written by legal scholars, legal advisers of the Union's institutions and Member States, and political scientists, and are published by the Centre for the Law of EU External Relations (CLEER).
