Professor Achilles Skordas and Dr Patrick Capps, both from the School of Law, presented some of their recent research at a workshop on the Sociology of International Law on 19 and 20 May. The workshop was held at the Onati Institute for the Sociology of Law in Euskadi.
Professor Skordas presented two papers which were entitled "The 'Community Interest' in International Law" and "Can Systems Theory Conceive of 'Illegal Law'? The Paradox of the International Law of Force". Dr Capps presented a paper entitled "Rationality, Freedom and the Sociology of International Law".
The workshop was organised by Professor Mikael Rask Madsen from the University of Copenhagen, and Dr Josh Kaplan from Yale University.
