Genworth Index of Consumer Vulnerability

Map of Index scores 2007-2010

The map shows the Genworth Index scores from the first edition in 2007, through to the latest edition in 2010. The Index takes the ratio of the percentage of people who are financially vulnerable relative to the percentage of those who are financially secure. The resulting value is rescaled so that a score of 100 indicates maximum possible relative financial vulnerability and a score of -100 indicates maximum relative financial security.

Ten countries were included in 2007. More countries have been included in each subsequent edition, with 18 countries appearing in 2010. Please note that Great Britain was surveyed as a whole, not as individual countries within Great Britain. Northern Ireland was not included.
