Launch of CCF Toolkit for Initial Teacher Training and Staff Professional Development

Education policy and research service 2023

Press release issued: 14 September 2023

We are launching the CCF: a brand new toolkit based on over a hundred research reports which underpin the Core Content Framework for Initial Teacher Training.

I wonder if the initials EPRS mean anything to you? If not, you are missing out on a great resource, so read on.

The initials stand for Education Policy and Research Service. The EPRS was founded way back in the late 1980s to provide schools with summaries of key policy documents which were shipped out in large brown paper envelopes. It has considerably evolved, and is now a web based service, offering a range of monthly summaries of key education policy and research along with weekly education updates and a searchable database. Three years ago, we began developing toolkits which enable the summaries to be used as a teaching resource. Our first toolkit is based on curricular and general themes such as assessment, SEND, and social mobility.

We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new toolkit only available as part of the EPRS subscription – the CCF toolkit. This toolkit is based on over a hundred research reports which underpin the Core Content Framework for Initial Teacher Training. I have used the toolkit myself with my students to enable a ‘flipped learning’ approach and save myself time.
