The undergraduate programmes, BSc Education Studies and BSc Psychology in Education, have only been running since September 2017. Prior to that, the School was named the Graduate School of Education, and taught over 600 students in doctoral, masters’ and initial teacher education programmes each year.
Since welcoming undergraduates to the school, the cohorts have gone from strength to strength. BSc Education Studies undergraduate Natasha said of her course, and the reason for choosing to study at the SoE:
"I saw that the school was very highly ranked for research, and a lot of the lecturers were involved in research projects and have their work published, so I knew that I would be learning from some of the top people in this field.
I’m very passionate about why there are inequalities in the education system, and why everyone doesn’t have an equal chance of gaining good outcomes, and a lot of the modules within this course explore this in depth."
School of Education Head of School, Professor Melissa Allen, said of the achievement:
"Congratulations to our fantastic undergraduate team at the School of Education, for their outstanding work and support of our undergraduate students. Well done to all!"
