PGR Clubs

The BDC facilitates a number of different interest groups specifically for PGRs, which provide a chance for you to meet other researchers outside of your Faculty or School.

Sessions for the PGR Clubs will be advertised in the fortnightly BDC Bulletin

PGR Film Club

A chance for PGRs to watch films together with time to chat about films and catch up with other PGRs.  Keep your eye on the Bulletin for polls to choose the film for the next screening.

PGR Board Game Club

Regular evenings in the PGR Hub where you can play games from the Hub's extensive collection.

PGR Craft Corner

Crazy about Crochet? Mad about macrame? Bring along your projects to do them with fellow crafty PGRs on the first Thursday of every month. Snacks and some craft materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own too.

PGR Cast podcast (currently without active members)

PGR Cast is our very own podcast run by PGRs for PGRs. Each episode is centred around an unscripted interview on a topic that is loosely related to PGR life; previous themes have included "From PhD to Industry", "A supervisor's perspective" and "Women's Mental Health".

University Staff Clubs

There are also some University staff clubs open to PGRs such as football and yoga.

University Parents and Carers Network

An informal network for staff and PGRs with caring responsibilities.

Do you have your own idea for a PGR club?

Get in touch with bdc-engagement@bristol.ac.uk to discuss your idea and we could help you promote it.
