PhD students win prizes at Great Western Electrochemistry Meeting

Two School of Chemistry PhD students were awarded top prizes at the Great Western Electrochemistry meeting, which took place at the University of Bath on June 17.

Valentina Corsetti, first year PhD Student in the Bristol Electrochemistry and Solar team, was awarded the top prize for her poster contribution entitled 'Exploring Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 Stability for PEC Hydrogen Evolution: the Effect of Ultrathin ALD Protection Layers'.

Izzy Khalek, second year PhD Student in the same group, was awarded the top prize for her talk entitled: 'Understanding the activity of LaxSr1-xCoO3 perovskite oxides for the oxidation of biomass-derived 5-hydroxymethylfurfural'. Izzy has now been invited to present her work at RSC Electrochem 2024 in Manchester.
