Our 2021 IRW Showcase  was held at MShed, Bristol on Monday 27th September. After a welcome introduction from Professor Awais Rashid, Professor Director Adam Joinson, and Dr Barney Craggs, the showcase included: 

• Themed Industry Panel Discussion, chaired by Adam Joinson
• Responsible Challenge student presentations, chaired by Richard Owen
• 2020 IRW Challenge Winners Presentation, chaired by Barney Craggs
• 2021 IRW Challenge announcement, with Awais Rashid and Barney Craggs
• Poster presentations from all our students

 

The 2021 IRW Challenge focused on a critical analysis of Apple’s Privacy Nutrition Labels and the 2021 proposed Google Safety Section.  Each  team was challenged to design a Privacy Nutrition Labelling Scheme for Home IoT.

During the following week, our new CDT cohort (C3) worked in separate teams,  initially in Bristol and then in Bath,  to develop and present their solutions to members of the CDT Leadership Team and an Industry Partner.  The week also enabled the new CDT students to meet potential PhD supervisors and learn about the many active research projects in both universities associated with the CDT programme, as well as getting to know their academic and peer mentors.
