Due the pandemic, 2020 saw our annual Industry Student Showcase go online. 

After an online welcome  from Professor Awais Rashid and Professor Adam Joinson and and industry introductions from our attending industry partners, the showcase included: 

• Short Industry Partner Presentations from Airbus, HP Labs and Thales
• Themed industry panel discussion, chaired by Adam Joinson
• A session from our 2019 IRW Challenge winners 
• NCSC presentation 
• Announcement of the 2020 NCSC IRW Challenge for our new cohort of students 

The 2020 IRW Challenge focused again on a Future Cyber Essentials and whether it is necessary to extend/introduce additional CE controls. The CDT students were tasked to further extend the work done by the 2019 NCSC IRW Challenge Winners.

During the following week, our new CDT cohort (C2) worked online to develop and present their NCSC 2021 IRW Challenge solutions to  members of the CDT Leadership Team and College of Supervisors.  The week also enabled the new CDT students to meet potential PhD supervisors and learn about the many active research projects associated with the CDT programme as well as getting to know their academic and peer mentors.
