We're on the fourth floor of the Union.

Silly hat social
Our first social will be our traditional silly hat social at the Roo bar (Clifton Down, Whiteladies Road)
from 7.30pm. Come along and meet other members, we'll be wearing silly hats to help you find us! Feel
free to bring your most bizarre headwear but don't worry, looking stupid is a bonus not a requirement.
- Sunday 12th October
-
Boiling Wells event
Our first event will be at the Boiling Wells site in St Werburghs. There are only a limited
number of places which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
- Sunday 19th October

Pub Quiz. Roo Bar, Whitleladies Rd, Clifton Down
As a well deserved break from conservation, we have our next social coming up, this is a pub quiz at the Roo Bar, on Whiteladies Road, Clifton Down, (its right next to the train station). The quiz starts at 8, we are going to be collecting in Roo bar from about 7.30’ish, if you need any more details contact our social sectary Steve, hope to see you all there.
- Sunday 26th October
-
Cadbury Camp
This task is going to involve clearing brambles and other scrub from
around the iron age hill-fort. And a bonfire (well hopefully anyway). Sadly there'll be no Willy Wonka and no chocolate waterfall, but hot drinks are of course provided! As this trip requires the minibus, it will cost £2, and pick-ups at the Union 9am, Stoke Bishop shop 9.15am, Arches 9.30am and returning by 6pm as usual.

Fireworks, Durdham Downs, Bristol
Come join us for this years spectacular fireworks display on Durdham Downs. We will be meeting at the top of Whiteladies Rd, (next to miss millies) at 6.00pm. There will also be fair ground rides and stalls. We'll probably go to a bar afterwards but we won't stay out too late as we will have a conservation event the next day. It's 5 pounds entry, but groups of 10 only pay 30 pounds. So if we get enough/a lot of people it will be cheaper/confusing.
If you need any more details contact our social sectary Steve, hope to see you all there.
- Sunday 2nd November
-
Stoke Bishop
Coppicing at Stoke Bishop is our next event. For those who have never coppiced before, it's
simply chopping branches off trees and it's fun! Send me an email if you'd like to come.
- Wednesday 5th November
-
Pub social, Penny Farthing down Whiteladies Rd
On wednesday 5th november we will be meeting in the Penny Farthing
which is opposite the clifton down shopping centre on whitelaides from 8pm
onwards. If you're going on the Alfrick trip it would be a great
opportunity to meet everyone. Of course it's not exclusive to the alfrick
trip so come on down anyway!
If you need any more details contact our social sectary Steve, hope to see you all there.
- Saturday 8th - Sunday 9th November
-
Alfrick weekend
A weekend of coppicing, path widening and bramble clearance with hot lunch provided by the
lovely Trevor and Annette...sounds good, yes? This is always a really popular event (did I
mention the hot lunches?) so don't miss out! Accomodation on the Saturday is a village hall and
there will be a small charge to cover costs. If you have any questions please ask a member of
the committee or have a look through the scrapbook at what happened in previous years.
- Wedneday November 26th

-
Disney pub crawl
Right conservationists we are having a dress-up social. The theme is Disney characters, and the place is the Jersey Lilly on Whiteladies Road, at 8pm.
Come dressed as your favourite character from your favourite Disney film, we will then be heading to various bars and pubs, as we go on the conservationists Disney pub crawl!
If you not sure if you can make the first pub give Steve a ring to meet up with us later on the crawl.
- Sunday 30th November
-
Leigh Woods
Our next event is over the Suspension Bridge at Leigh Woods. No transport necessary (unless,
of course, you're one of those unfortunate people who live a million years away). Leigh Woods is always
worth exploring so please join us for what will probably be mostly scrub clearance. Directions will be
provided closer to the time, keep checking your emails!
- Sunday 7th December

Lower Woods
Our last event of the term is at Lower Woods. We'll be getting the
minibus to this event so don't forget to let me know where you want to be
picked up when you sign up!
