School EDI Committee

At Bristol Veterinary School we have a School EDI Committee comprised mainly of staff members, and a student EDI committee. The School EDI Committee strives to ensure that no individual or group, student or staff, is disadvantaged on any ground including age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender reassignment, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief.

The Committee works to embed the University of Bristol’s EDI policies and strategy. The School EDI Committee has representatives within the Faculty of Health Sciences EDI Committee and Veterinary Schools Council EDI Committee.

The Committee implements guidance and promotes EDI initiatives from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, the British Veterinary Association and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges.

The Committee provides a forum for staff and students to voice their views related to equity, diversity and inclusion. Throughout the year, the EDI Committees provide a variety of ways for staff and students to feedback, and in response develops strategic actions to create change.

Resources for BVS staff members are available here.
