Research IT worked in partnership with Dr Sebastian Steinig on a Jean Golding Institute (JGI) seed corn funded project to support a web application that enables interactive access to climate research data to enhance scientific collaboration and public outreach. The Climate Archive website is centred around an interactive 3D model of Planet Earth which is used to visualise the results of over 100 different climate model simulations streching back over the last 540 million years.

Research IT’s involvement was to help transfer the researcher's vision and climate model to the website, and put in place solid technical foundations for future work. A development workflow using a Docker container was implemented to simplify sharing and expanding the app within the community.
