We are a small team of experienced systems developers, systems administrators and facilitators with experience in scoping, designing and delivering research software.

A University of Bristol researcher needs to be associated with a project (usually as a PI or co-I) for Research IT to be involved. Alongside software development, they can assist with writing aspects of a bid application, and support researchers in identifying how software can help realise their research goals.

Research IT have extensive experience in software development using many different programming languages and frameworks. The team is often involved in the design and optimisation of databases, creating tools for data collection, developing mobile applications and producing specialist websites and other applications.

Furthermore, for a standard facility day rate, they offer assistance with project sysadmin, support optimising code or scripts and can help identify appropriate tools and language. Additionally, they can advise on code management, packaging, and distribution.

For further information on the services that Research IT offer, see our remit.

If you feel that Research IT are the right team for your research project, then please see what to expect when working with Research IT.
