Work with us
Once your project is funded, Research IT will endeavour to provide a service that is as diligent, transparent, and professional as possible for University of Bristol researchers. The information below outlines how best to secure our services.
Enquiries
For general enquiries, please email research-it@bristol.ac.uk
Standard process for acquiring our services
- The best way to get in contact with us is to complete our Project Information form which provides us with useful background information on your project.
- We will then contact you via email to arrange a meeting to discuss your software development needs in more detail.
- After this we can provide you with a written cost estimate for the work that we envisage for your project, which can be used as part of your funding proposal.
- After this, if you choose to go with us then we will schedule development work for your project to start as specified on your estimate.

Making a project website?
Sometimes project websites do not require bespoke development. If your proposed website has relatively simple technical requirements, we generally recommend using the university's free 'Bristol Blogs' service as it highly functional and cost-effective.
Developing Online Surveys
Research IT can advise on surveys but do not build complex servey tools. However, the University of Bristol uses JISC’s Online Surveys service, and this may meet your needs.
