Important Update Royal Mail has changed the way that Special Delivery and Signed for items are processed, the stickers and books can no longer be used. Please see. Royal Mail Special Delivery update (PDF, 109kB).
If you need to send an item via Special Delivery or Signed For services, please complete a Special Delivery request form (PDF, 33kB) and attach it loosely to your item. These will then be registered electronically by the Post Room and tracking updates sent automatically to a designated recipient.
When sending via Special Delivery, compensation of £750 is included. However, you should consider whether additional compensation is required. Compensation on Signed For services is limited to £50.
If you are sending more than 5 items per week, please speak to a member of the Post Team to discuss alternative options.
Please note that international tracked services are unaffected by these changes and can continue to be processed with the stickers and books. We do ask you refer to the International Shipping Guidance when sending internationally, in particular the requirements for a CN22 or CN23 customs declaration. Note that any Customs / VAT charges are payable by the recipient and not the University.
