14 October 2014

On 16th October, the Bristol Optical Students Society (B.O.S.S) held an opening evening to celebrate the official launch of the new social year and to advertise some of the events and opportunities which will take place over the next year.

The members of B.O.S.S, who are predominantly members of the Centre for Quantum Photonics, welcomed a number of undergraduate and postgradaute students from different departments within the University of Bristol to join them for their open evening to discuss what they do and what future events are planned by the society.

The aim of this event was to encourage current University of Bristol students with an interest in Optics to join B.O.S.S and benefit from the activities the student chapter have to offer, including outreach opportunities such as the recently held Bristol Bright Night and the year round networking opportunities available to students with an interest in Photonics and Optics.
