Summer 2021 - visitor access restrictions

Capacity within our libraries is currently severely limited due to social distancing measures. As such, access to the University of Bristol Library is restricted to current University of Bristol staff and students only. We are not processing applications or renewals for Bristol Graduate subscriptions, and the Visitor Scheme is suspended.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you have any questions, please email the Visitor Access Team at lib-access@bristol.ac.uk.

One-off visits

If you only wish to make occasional visits, please make use of our free Visitor Scheme. Please ensure that you check the conditions of entry carefully. Access is to our Arts and Social Sciences and Wills Memorial Libraries only. Books from other university libraries can be consulted via our book retrieval service.

Register for a card

Bristol Graduates who wish to make more regular visits can do so by registering for either a free Visitor card or a Borrowing subscription that carries an annual fee of £60. A Borrower card entitles you to borrow up to 20 books at a time.

If you wish to register for a card, please email lib-access@bristol.ac.uk and you will be sent the appropriate form.

Access is to our Arts and Social Sciences and Wills Memorial Libraries only. Books from other university libraries can be consulted via our book retrieval service.

We regret that at this time we are unable to offer access to our PCs and e-resources, such as electronic journals and databases and e-books, to external visitors as these are reserved for current UoB staff and students. As an alternative you may like to browse our list of freely available research resources.
