Sorting, matching and choice in England’s school

We develop a new approach to modelling school sorting and its relationship to choice. We also test deviations of measured choice from randomness, whereas the standard indices measure deviations from even-ness. Part of this research is also investigating the link between choice and the likelihood of students from different backgrounds attending good schools.
