Professor Hugh Brady

Professor Hugh Brady is Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bristol.

A graduate of University College Dublin, Professor Brady trained in general medicine and was awarded PhD and MD degrees for research in renal physiology and molecular medicine. His academic career has included positions at Harvard and the University of Toronto, and he is an international authority on the pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease.

Professor Judith Squires

Professor Squires obtained her first degree in Politics from the University of Edinburgh and then completed an ESRC funded PhD from the University of London in Political Theory. After completing her doctoral studies she worked at the Institute of Contemporary Arts as an Associate Director of Lectures and Seminars for two years before joining the University of Bristol in 1990 as Lecturer in Politics.

Professor Philip Taylor

Professor Taylor, who was appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise in July 2020, will be responsible for shaping Bristol’s research and enterprise activity, ensuring it meets the University’s strategic ambition to be a world-leading research-intensive university making a positive contribution to the key global challenges facing society.

Professor John Iredale

Professor Iredale graduated from the University of Southampton with honours in Clinical Distinction in 1985 and was awarded a DM in 1995. He was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1999 and The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2007. He was made a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2003 and Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2011.

Professor Sarah Purdy 

Sarah is Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Experience at the University of Bristol.  Sarah is also a Professor of Primary Care within Bristol Medical School. Her research focuses on reducing the number of avoidable hospital admissions and emergency care use

Ms Lucinda Parr 


Lucinda joined the University of Bristol as Registrar and University Secretary in March 2019.

After graduating from Goldsmiths College with a BMus in Music, University of London in 1999, Lucinda secured employment there as an Admissions Officer whilst studying for her MMus in Historical Musicology and has continued to work in Higher Education ever since
