Dr Giovanni Biglino and Professor Massimo Caputo

Medical imaging and advance three-dimensional (3D) technologies (or 3D+) offer unparalleled opportunities for non-invasive assessment of both anatomy and function in congenital heart disease. Our team’s research in this context, led by Dr Biglino, complements other research areas by looking at three specific intertwined areas, namely 1) medical imaging and computational modelling, focusing on morphological analyses and simulation, 2) 3D printing and other approaches to visualising complex CHD anatomies for different applications and 3) making use of technologies to work with patients and elicit narrative of illness and patient beliefs.
