New blog posts about the Theatre & Live Art Records at Risk project are now live.

Our Project Archivist, Siân Williams has published new blog posts about the Records at Risk project on the Theatre Collection Blog.

Theatre & Live Art Records at Risk due to COVID-19, reflects on the project so far, exploring the impact of the pandemic on the theatre sector and how we must respond at the Theatre Collection.

'Records at Risk' - what does that mean?, explains what we are talking about when we use the phrase ‘Records at Risk’ and the reasons why records might be vulnerable to loss or disposal.  The blog post features our new informational videos created as part of the project with advice about managing and storing your own records.  The videos can also be found on our updated resources page, Caring for your own records.

Theatre & Live Art Records at Risk project

The Records at Risk project aims to find and support significant theatre and live art records at risk due to the impact of the pandemic.  In a bid to preserve the cultural history of the theatre industry, we are appealing to individuals and companies concerned about their records to seek advice on how to ensure they are preserved for the future.

We are looking to help individuals including but not limited to artists, backstage professionals, designers, directors, photographers, practitioners, producers, and writers, as well as organisations which have been affected by the pandemic and need help with caring for their archives, both digital and analogue.

If you are concerned about your records or know of any vulnerable collections that are at risk of loss or disposal, please get in touch with Siân Williams, Project Archivist: sian.a.williams@bristol.ac.uk

The Records at Risk project has been made possible thanks to a National Archives grant.
