Overview

The MA Digital Business Innovation programme is tailored for individuals looking to spearhead digital transformation within organisations. This programme is ideal for applicants from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including business, technology, and the Arts, Law and Social Sciences, who want to leverage digital tools and strategies to innovate and drive business growth. The curriculum covers essential areas such as digital business models, strategic innovation management and the integration of emerging technologies.

Unique aspects of this programme include a strong emphasis on real-world application through collaborative projects with industry partners. Students will work on projects that involve developing digital strategies for real businesses, providing them with invaluable practical experience and insights into the latest industry trends. The programme also offers opportunities for networking with professionals and entrepreneurs, fostering a community of practice that supports lifelong learning and career development.

Programme structure

The programme comprises several core units, starting with foundational units in The Role of AI in Digital Innovation and Advanced Digital Business. These courses provide a solid theoretical grounding in how digital technologies are reshaping business landscapes. Following this, students will participate in a practical client project, where they apply their learning to real-world business challenges. This project emphasises the development of practical skills such as project management, strategic planning, and stakeholder communication. The final component of the programme is the Digital Innovation Project, where students undertake a comprehensive project that synthesises all their learning. This capstone project is often conducted in collaboration with their peers and a business partner, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their ability to innovate and lead within a digital context.

Entry requirements

You will typically need an upper second-class honours degree or an international equivalent in any discipline.

If you are currently completing a degree, we understand that your final grade may be higher than the interim grades or module/unit grades you have achieved during your studies to date.

We will consider your application if your interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements and may make you an aspirational offer. This offer would be at the standard level, so you would need to achieve the standard entry requirements by the end of your degree. Specific module requirements would still apply.

We will also consider your application if your final overall achieved grade is slightly lower than the programme's entry requirement. If you have at least one of the following, please include your CV (curriculum vitae / résumé) when you apply, showing details of your relevant qualifications:

  • Evidence of relevant work experience (minimum six months) with a formal title in one of the following sectors: corporate, social, charitable or government sectors.
  • A postgraduate qualification.

See international equivalent qualifications on the International Office website.

Read the programme admissions statement for important information on entry requirements, the application process and supporting documents required.
