Serth and Gates Charity Awards

Award contributing to tuition fee payments for students undertaking their second degree who are in their third year Veterinary Science BVSc or second year Accelerated Graduate Entry Programme (AGEP)

Home postgraduate students in their third year Veterinary Science BVSc or second year Accelerated Graduate Entry Programme (AGEP) can apply for these awards. This is only open to students who are undertaking the undergraduate BVSc or AGEP as a second degree.  

Fee payments are available and these payments will be made direct to the University of Bristol towards your tuition fee accounts and will not be awarded as a cash bursary.  

Eligibility

You can apply if you: 

  • are in your third year of study for the BVSc or your second year of study for the AGEP
  • have completed a different undergraduate degree prior to your BVSc/AGEP
  • can demonstrate financial need
  • are a UK (home) student for fee purposes.

You do not need to have undertaken your previous degree at Bristol to be eligible to apply. 

How to apply

To apply: 

  1. Complete the application form.

Qualifying students on the BVSc or AGEP courses will be invited to apply for the scholarship by the University of Bristol’s Student Money Advice and Funding Office.

Successful applicants will be required to: 

  1. Complete a self certification tax form by the Charity. 
  2. Write a 500 word report at the end of the academic year to share with the Charity. 

Deadline

Applications for the 2024/25 academic year will be accepted unitl 21 April 2024 at 11:59 pm. Applicants must apply through the University of Bristol using the Microsoft form sent in the invitation to apply. The Charity will not accept unsolicited applications direct from students. 

Assessment process

Applications will be assessed by the Trustees of the Serth and Gates Charity (Charity Number 1124777).

If you are selected for this award, you will be contacted by the Money Advice and Funding Office at the University of Bristol.

Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
