Find out how to register so you can start your studies and become part of our community.

We encourage you to arrive in Bristol and complete registration in time for Welcome Week which starts on Monday 9 September 2024. This will enable you to make the most of the activities that are planned to help you settle into life on and off campus.

Teaching will begin on Monday 16 September 2024 and you should try to be fully registered and ready to engage in learning by this date. Find out what to do if you can't arrive by Welcome Week.

How to register

Registration for students arriving in September will open on Thursday 22 August 2024.

You should try to confirm your registration details by Friday 30 August 2024.

For most students, to be fully registered you must:

If you are studying an online or distance-learning course

If you are on a professional course

Some professional courses require you to also complete occupational health and/or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Your faculty will contact you if you need to do this.

Deadlines to register

If you are arriving in September, you should confirm your registration details and upload your photo by Friday 30 August 2024 so you can complete registration during Welcome Week and take part in all the events on offer.

If you are going to be late

If you cannot arrive by Monday 9 September 2024, you should:

  • contact student-services@bristol.ac.uk to tell us when you plan to arrive and why you will be arriving late
  • confirm your registration details and upload your photo as soon as possible
  • plan to arrive in Bristol as soon as you can, and by the latest date to complete registration.

Latest dates to complete registration

  • Undergraduate students must arrive and compete registration by 3 pm on Friday 4 October 2024.
    • Dental Surgery (BDS), Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSc) and Veterinary Science (Accelerated Graduate Entry Programme) (BVSc) students must arrive and register by 3 pm on Friday 27 September 2024.
  • International Foundation Programme (IFP) students must arrive and complete registration by 3 pm on Friday 20 September 2024.
  • Postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students must arrive and register by 3 pm on Friday 27 September 2024.

If you do not complete registration by the date that applies, your student record and any relevant visa sponsorship will be withdrawn.

Appointments for completing student document checks will be available on weekdays and weekends between Monday 9 September and Sunday 6 October 2024.
