Find out how to register so you can start your studies and become part of our community.
Welcome Week starts on Monday 9 September. It will be full of activities to help you settle in to life on and off campus. You should register as a Bristol student to take part in all the events on offer.
Wherever possible you should confirm your registration details by 30 August 2024.
How to register
For most students, to be fully registered you must:
- Confirm your registration details
- Upload your photo
- Set up multi-factor authentication
- Complete a student document check if you are subject to immigration control
- Activate your University ID card (UCard)
- Download the University of Bristol app before your first class
If you are studying an online or distance-learning course
- Confirm your registration details
- Upload your photo
- Set up multi-factor authentication
- Complete the ‘start your studies’ form
If you are on a professional course
Some professional courses require you to also complete occupational health and/or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Your faculty will contact you if this is required.
Registration for students arriving in September will open on 22 August.

Deadlines to register
If you are arriving in September, you should confirm your registration details and upload your photo by 30 August 2024 so you can complete registration during Welcome Week and take part in all the events on offer.
If you are a pre-sessional student
You will need to register by the date in the email you will receive about your arrival.
If you are unable to arrive during Welcome Week
If you cannot complete registration during Welcome Week, contact student-services@bristol.ac.uk.
