Find out how to register so you can start your studies and become part of our community.
How to register
For most students, to be fully registered you must:
- Confirm your registration details.
- Set up multi-factor authentication.
- Upload your photo.
- Complete a student document check if you are subject to immigration control.
- Collect and activate your University ID card (UCard).
If you are an on-campus pre-sessional student, you will be guided through the last two steps as part of your course induction.
Home students should be aware that you will not get your maintenance or postgraduate masters loan until you have registered in full. To have registered in full you must have collected and swiped your UCard. This may take up to a week.w
If you are studying an online or distance-learning course
- Confirm your registration details.
- Set up multi-factor authentication.
- Complete the ‘start your studies’ form.
- Upload your photo.
If you are on a professional course
Some professional courses require you to also complete occupational health and/or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Your faculty will contact you if you need to do this.
Deadlines to register
Students with a different 2025/26 start date
Your school or faculty will contact you with your registration deadline if you have a different start date.
Changes for September 2026
From September, you need to tell us where your tuition fee payments will come from.
