Webinars

Open Research Europe: Beyond a Research Journal: Monday 31st October 2022, 2-3pm

Open Research Europe is the new online open access publishing platform of the European Commission. It offers Horizon funding programmes beneficiaries and their collaborators, with a high-quality publishing venue which follows high scientific standards and open data sharing practices. It was launched in March 2021, covering 6 subjects areas: agricultural and veterinary sciences, engineering and technology, humanities and the arts, medical and health sciences, natural sciences, and social sciences. It currently has over 250 publications, and has been accepted for indexation in Scopus, ERIH PLUS, Inspec, as well as awarded the DOAJ seal.
In this session we will explain what the motivations and ambitions of the European commission were to create such a platform, how it works, and how researchers can specifically benefit from our post publication and open peer review model.

This webinar is run by Dr Alicia Estacio Gómez, Open Research Europe. For more information and to register for a place see https://bristol-ac-uk.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ikvyCsBwSdezXC6wnOXO5w.

Workshops

What does 'responsible research' mean to you?: Thursday 3rd November, 11am-12:30pm

Do you work in an area related to academic research, and have opinions about what constitutes 'responsible research' in your discipline (or others)? This event is for you!

We are holding an open workshop on 3 Nov, 11:00-12:30, at University of Bristol, inviting views from people working in research, across any academic field (and outside academia). This is part of a larger project we are conducting on building a detailed concept of 'responsible research,' and how it applies similarly or differently across different academic disciplines.

Join us for a short presentation, group discussion, and light lunch afterwards. Spaces are limited, so please RSVP: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/workshop-on-responsible-research-tickets-439074994127
