- Work experienceThe Work and Work Placement unit, available to all policy studies’ undergraduate students, is a unique module aimed specifically at preparing students for the world of work through C.V and interview practice, industry placements and analysis of employment market.
- Professional mentoringThe Professional Liaison Network (PLN), within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, has well-established connections to local public and third sector employers in the City of Bristol. Their team facilitate access to professional mentors working in disciplines related to policy studies.
- Bristol Q-StepThe University of Bristol Q-Step Centre is part of a national initiative enhancing quantitative skills training for undergraduate students in the social sciences. We offer a choice between single honours degrees (childhood studies or social policy with quantitative research methods), and stand-alone units that are open to all Policy Studies' students.
- Industry insightThe School works closely with the Careers Service throughout the academic year to coordinate a programme of seminars providing insight into careers in the social sciences.
- Bristol PLUS AwardThe Bristol PLUS Award rewards extracurricular activities completed at any point during your degree, including paid employment (part time work), volunteering/outreach work and student leadership roles. The award is a great addition to your C.V and is formally recognised on your degree transcript.
