The MMPPF and MMB are launching an Art Maroon Exhibition in collaboration with artist Jean Joseph entitled: On Freedom: Whose story? Whose lens?

The Art Exhibition will take place at Centrespace Gallery from the 28th of April to the 3rd of May.

The event will hold a workshop with the participation of Asylum seekers living in Bristol.

Adom Philogene Heron (Visual Anthropology) will be in conversation with artist-curator, Jean Joseph discussing her practice, the artwork in the exhibition, and their shared Dominican roots.

The Art of Marronage: Fugitive Knowledge from Brazil and Colombia

Bethan Fisk (Colonial Latin American History) and Jose Lingna Nafafe (Lusophone and Black Atlantic History), in conversation with Jean Joseph about Maroon networks and knowledge production in Latin America and the Caribbean.
