The talk focusses on the techno-economic condition of micro-investment, which is undergoing a great boom in Korea, particularly among the younger generation. Drawing on cases of financialization of culture online emerging in Korea, the talk examines the expansion of the model of digital labour to that of financialization: that is a shift from labour to investment, from being free to having substantial dividends, from passion to speculation, and from devotion to ambition.
