Terrell Carver’s provocative book pays attention to Marx’s life experiences and political engagements, arguing for their centrality in order to understand his ‘theory’. Through these conceptual lenses, his legacy becomes an activist and political inspiration, rather than an exegetical burden. Participants of this roundtable will engage with this and other arguments of the book, using it as a platform to -- once again -- engage in a lively conversation about Marx.
