Early in 2022, the University was successful in their bid for an AHRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA). We were awarded £450,000 for impact related projects in the arts and humanities. Funds must be spent between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2025. This type of funding is for creating impact from existing research and so cannot be used to extend or scope out new research projects. Projects should be focused towards non-academic audiences and relevant user communities.
Applications for IAA funding are welcome from academics based in any School or Faculty at Bristol. The project should at least fall >50% within the remit of the AHRC (as defined by AHRC - (https://www.ukri.org/councils/ahrc/remit-programmes-and-priorities/) and the link(s) between research and proposed project demonstrated in the application. However projects do not need to be directly related to previous UKRI funding.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to involve one or more non-academic Partner(s) in their project.
The types of awards we will be offering are as follows -
Seed Funding Awards (up to £3,000) up to 6 month-long projects that provide funding for academics to build the earliest stages of impact and support a wide range of activities.
Proof of Concept Awards (up to £15,000) up to 12 month-long projects to fund larger projects that aim to demonstrate the feasibility of ideas emerging from the research in different business, policy or practice contexts.
Knowledge Exchange Placements (up to £16,000) 12-24 month long placements to allow researchers to become embedded within an organisation (and vice versa), foster more sustainable partnerships, and build-up networks.
Enterprise Development Awards (up to £40,000) These awards are by invitation only and can be used to develop impact-at-scale such as making an existing project sustainable. Projects can be for any duration, provided all activities are completed and all costs incurred by the end of the IAA funding period - 31 March 2025.
