QET Labs hosts Next Generation Quantum Networking Workshop

3 May 2021

QET Labs members in the Quantum Communications Hub, together with our collaborators in Smart Internet Labs at Bristol and collaborators at the University of Cambridge, organised and hosted the first Next Generation Quantum Networking Workshop held online on 29 - 30 April 2021

With over 600 delegates from academia and industry registered for the two-day event, the workshop boasted 25 prolific speakers from across the globe, sharing their research and discussing technological challenges and solutions for creating the next generation of quantum communication networks.

Speaking about the workshop, John Rarity said, “The event featured representatives giving talks from the world-leading groups in quantum communications including from Jian-Wei Pan's group in China, Stephanie Wehner in the Netherlands, Eleni Diamante in Paris, the Bristol group itself and many others. As a result, the sessions were extremely well attended with up to 200 attendees in all sessions. What started as a small workshop focused on work in the Hub became an international success".

A huge thank you to the organising board (including QET Labs members Siddarth Joshi, Emily Fitz and John Rarity) and the sponsors who provided an interactive and insightful event. Attendees can revisit the event and access its web materials via Next Generation Quantum Networking Workshop 2021.
