Applications are invited from second-year general practice specialty trainees in English Deaneries (current ST2s) who wish to undertake clinical academic training starting in August of the year of application.

Funding will be available to enable trainees to extend their training by a year, allowing part-time attachment to a university department during the ST3 and ST4 years. The number of fellowships available vary from year to year. The awards may be held at any one of the universities within the NIHR School for Primary Care Research: Bristol, Cambridge, Keele, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Southampton and University College London.
