14 December 2015

This year's European Magnetic Field Laboratories prize has been awarded to Dr Carsten Putzke of Bristol's Correlated Electron Systems group.

The European Magnetic Field Laboratories (EMFL) award was made for Dr Putzke's work on quantum-oscillation measurements of high-temperature superconductors,  which was carried out during his time as a PhD student at the University of Bristol.

The award was presented at the annual user meeting which took place at the Laboratoire National des Champs Magnétiques Intenses (LNCMI) Grenoble, one of the four high magnetic field laboratories in Europe.

As award winner, Dr Putzke was nominated to join the EMFL user committee, which represents the interests of users in the field of metals and superconductors.
