Sustrans chief delivers 25 ideas to reduce Bristol's emissions

John Grimshaw MBE, Chief Executive of Sustrans and Honorary degree recipient, he gave a lecture on sustainable transport in the Wills Memorial Building.

John Grimshaw MBE, Chief Executive of Sustrans, the Bristol-based sustainable transport charity, received an Honorary degree from the University in February. One week later, he gave a lecture in the Reception Room at the Wills Memorial Building.

His talk, Can we drive less and live more? Notes for sustainable travelling in the 21st century, included 25 suggestions for reducing CO2 emissions in the Greater Bristol Area. The list is subtitled: 25 direct actions to reduce CO2 from transport in the Greater Bristol Area through reducing traffic and encouraging walking and cycling in order that Bristol can lead the way in responding to this challenge of our time and stake a claim to be the green capital of the UK.
