During Summer 2024, the Music Department medievalist community decamped to Gödollö, Hungary en masse for the 40th Anniversary meeting of the Cantus Planus Study Group of the International Musicological Society. PhD students Cassandra Fenton, Thomas Phillips and Megan Webb gave individual presentations. Professor Emma Hornby, Research and Innovation Associates Dr Marcus Jones and Dr Emily Wride, and our newly-arrived Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow Dr Melanie Shaffer also participated in a Round Table session on  early medieval notation, with our colleagues Professor Manuel Pedro Ferreira (FCSH - NOVA University of Lisbon) and PhD student Francesco Orio (FCSH - NOVA University of Lisbon and Universitat de Barcelona).
