The Repatriation Division has been working alongside the Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) in relation to the repatriation of cultural heritage, particularly with a focus on Native American cultural heritage in Europe. 

A team of postgraduate law students from the Human Rights Law Clinic with particular language skills in German, Greek and French have been examining cultural heritage law and policy in specific European countries. Dr Fiona Batt, who leads the Repatriation Division, has been invited to attend the 9th Annual AAIA Repatriation Conference in the U.S Conference in the U.S in November 2023.

Dr Fiona Batt has also presented her research and the work of the Repatriation Division at the University of Dar es Salaam Archaeology and Heritage Department in May 2023.
