Autumn Prize Giving: Celebrating law student achievements

The University of Bristol Law School honoured its outstanding students of the 2017/18 academic year in the Autumn Prize Giving Ceremony earlier this month.

This year's Autumn Prize Giving Ceremony was held on 13 November with the work of the following students being recognised:

  • Sheila Bamugemereire, Best Student (Citizenship and Immigration Law: problem solving and reasoning), sponsored by Burges Salmon LLP
  • Callum Davies, Best student in Tort, sponsored by MacFarlanes
  • Kate Davies, Best student in Crime, Justice and Society, sponsored by Oxford University Press
  • Ethan Diver, Best student in 1st year, sponsored by Slaughter & May
  • Isobel Kamber, Best Essay Prize in Citizenship and Immigration Law Unit, sponsored by Elgar Law Publishers
  • Charlotte Nielsen, Best student in 2nd year, sponsored by the Law School
  • William Penfold, Best student in Constitutional Rights, sponsored by Guildhall Chambers
  • Charlotte Short, Best undergraduate paper in second year land law exam, sponsored by 3PB
  • Alastair Sim, Best student in Contract Law, sponsored by Stephenson Harwood
  • Benjamin Stanworth, Best student in Jurisprudence, sponsored by Slaughter & May
  • Sean Sutherland, Best first year MA performance, sponsored by the Law School
  • Tien Tonnu, Best student in Law and Languages, sponsored by the Law School
  • Wee Toh Loo, Best undergraduate paper in second year land law exam, sponsored by 3PB
  • Jia Yeap, Malaysian student who has obtained the highest average in their first-year results

The ceremony also presented an opportunity to celebrate some of our most outstanding international students who had secured International Internship Scholarships. These were Richard Chen Yujin, Lydia Chong Nien Chee, Lo Timothy Ho Hang, Robyn Meredith, Roy Kiruri, Clarissa Ku Lee Sze, Mirabelle Tan Wei Chie, Harsh Tiwari, Daniel Yeap, and Natalie Wong Oi Ling. 

The International Internship Scholar Scheme was produly sponsored by Zain & Co, Azim, Tunku Furik & Wong, Linklaters and King & Wood Mallesons.

On receipt of their award, students said;
