TISCA - previously called the International Conference of Nigerian Students (ICONS) - takes place yearly and is hosted in partnership with top UK Universities. The conference was organised by XN Foundation, whose aims include highlighting opportunities for and outstanding achievements by African international students.
The theme for TISCA2018 was ‘The Africa Economic Renaissance – aligning graduate careers for a pan-African impact’ and was held from 20 – 22 April.
Dr Foluke Adebisi and four first-year Law students from the University of Bristol, Constance Abbey, Oyinkan Dabiri, Roy Kiruri, and Oreoluwa Olubajo attended the event on 20 April.
On receiving her award, Foluke said:
“I'm delighted to have been given this award. Celebrating Africa and African identification and creating more opportunities and connections for students and graduates from Africa is a pursuit that's close to my heart.
I received an ICONS award when I was a PhD student and to be here today with some of my students, and seeing how far ICONS, now TISCA, has grown since then, is a wonderful thing."
