Applications will remain open until Friday 17th November for the Denise Coates Foundation Bursary, which supports first-year undergraduate home / UK students studying single honours Law from low income backgrounds.
The Co-Founder and Trustee of the Denise Coates Foundation, John Coates, studied law at the University of Bristol. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to make a positive difference to people’s lives and these bursaries are one such way of doing that.
“Study at Bristol provides life-long opportunities. Students graduate as self-motivated, critical thinkers – skills that every employer is looking for. For under-represented students, the transition from school to academia can be particularly tough. With the Denise Coates Foundation bursaries we hope to support students in this character building year and help them lay foundations for future success.” (John Coates October 2015)
The award is valued at £2,000 for the first year of study only, and up to 40 students will benefit this year. The Denise Coates Foundation bursary can be held in conjunction with the University of Bristol Bursary as well as the EDSA award. The awards are anticipated to be made in December.
