Lois Bibbings completes Scholarship at Gladstone’s Library

Having been awarded a Scholarship, Lois Bibbings spent much of the summer working at this residential research library in Hawarden, North Wales. The Scholarship supported her work on the First World War, which currently includes a focus on the introduction of military compulsion in 1916 as well as a study of the views of those men who refused to be in the military or aid the war effort on the basis of conscience.
