The Whole Earth exhibition is a series of striking images and facts designed to show how students and universities everywhere can play a leading role in making society more sustainable. The photos are currently displayed at various venues around the university campus.
Ben wants the exhibition to be a conversation starter and is challenging his peers to post pictures of themselves in front of their photo of choice with a slogan illustrating how law matters in the debate;
This is a great opportunity to increase awareness of law as a subject that touches upon all aspects of life, a subject that is alive, exciting and that matters for the future sustainability of our planet and its people.
Ben is asking for those taking part to sum up their thoughts in no more than 20 words and then share their photos by tweeting;
I’ve taken the @bristolunilaw challenge. Show how #lawmatters for a sustainable society #studentearth bit.ly/1G7utEF
The six locations for the exhibition are shown on this map. They include Woodland Road, Priory Road and University Walk. All are publicly accessible.
The Whole Earth exhibition was curated by Chris Willmore, Reader of Sustainability and Law and run in conjunction with the UK National Union of Students
Ben is currently Vice Chair of the University of Bristol’s Students’ Union Postgraduate Network and his doctoral research concerns the human rights protection of internally displaced persons.
I chose this photo because it’s close to my heart and my work. I hope it will kick start action from the next generation of law makers – those who could be shaping the rules to make the world more sustainable.
The exhibition is running until 31st October, 2015.
