PhD student of the University of Bristol Law School Ravan Samadov attended the 11th International Academic Conference organized by the International Institute of Social and Economic Sciences on 24-27 June 2014 in Reykjavik, Iceland.

R.Samadov presented his paper on the right to compensation for unlawful deprivation of liberty in the “Social Sciences and Humanities: Law in Society” session. His presentation which addressed issues such as the right to compensation for unlawful detention in international human rights law, relevant legal framework of a particular European country – Azerbaijan, state of compliance of domestic legislation with international and European standards, and challenges of incorporation of these standards was followed by questions and constructive discussions. The paper is to be published in the conference proceedings.

After the participation at the above mentioned conference R.Samadov was offered the role of reviewer for the International Journal of Social Sciences (Prague, Czech Republic) by the International Institute of Social and Economic Sciences.
