The law school is delighted to announce the appointment of John Peake as Director of the Law Clinic, commencing September 1. His appointment is part of a longer-term strategy by the school to increase the opportunities for students to become involved in pro-bono legal work and to embed such opportunities more directly in the curriculum. John is a director and founder of SouthWestLaw, a firm committed to social welfare work. He currently works as a housing lawyer for North Somerset CAB and sits as a Tribunal Judge. He has previously been a Trustee of North Somerset CAB and North Bristol Advice Centre and secretary of Bristol Law Society.

When not lawyering John likes to run and took part in the 2012 European Cani-x championships. Until the summer of this year he was also secretary of Keynsham Town FC. He is married with two adult sons both of whom are maths graduates and are back living at .. home. He is very much looking forward to taking up his new position in the law school.
