The Human Rights Implementation Centre continues its support to the process of adoption legislation on the National Preventative Mechanism in Kazakhstan. Thus in Fall 2011 the Centre was requested to provide advice on the scope of Article 4 of OPCAT in relation to the Draft 'Law on the Amendments and Additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the matter of the establishment of national preventive mechanisms aimed at the prevention of torture and other inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment' .
